As part of the ongoing inquiry, law enforcement officials confirmed that her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, voluntarily participated in an extended interview. Investigators emphasized that he has not been arrested, is not facing charges, and that interviews with family members are a standard component of major missing-person investigations.

According to officials, Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, after sharing dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and Cioni. Reports indicate that Cioni drove her home later that night and observed her safely entering the residence.
